The WB RH-AL Series Aluminum Roof Hatch – Hurricane & Impact Rated is a rugged, hurricane-rated access door designed to provide secure, convenient and weather-resistant access onto roofs in applications such as hotels, apartments, hospitals, industrial facilities or any location where access to a ceiling/roof is necessary. Featuring heavy-duty, .125 rust resistant aluminum construction with a re-coatable gray primer finish, hatch is fully insulated and comes with a heavy-gauge extruded rubber gasket to keep out the exterior weather elements.

WB RH-AL Series Roof Hatches are independently tested to ASTM standards for air leakage, water penetration, and structural performance. They provide a reliable access point to the roof — rugged and weather-tight.

• Air Tightness: Passed ASTM 283 Air Leakage Test with minimal air leakage under +300 Pa pressure.
• Water Resistance: Passed ASTM 547 Water Penetration Test with no leakage at DP30 levels, ensuring watertight performance.
• Structural Strength: Passed ASTM E330 Load Deflection Test with no deflection or damage at +50 psf / –50 psf load.

WB RH-AL Series Roof Hatches are independently tested to Miami-Dade hurricane standards for wind, water, structural, impact, and forced entry — making them ideal for hurricane-prone and high-security facilities.

• Impact Resistance: Passed TAS 201 (Large Missile Impact) — resists flying debris at hurricane wind speeds.
• Water Penetration: Passed TAS 202 Water Penetration Test at +30 psf and ±50 psf design pressure with no leakage.
• Structural Strength: Passed TAS 203 Cyclic Load Test, simulating repeated hurricane wind cycles — over 1,300 pressure cycles completed with no failure.
• Air & Water Tightness: ASTM testing shows low air infiltration and no water entry under severe storm conditions.
• Forced Entry: Passed ASTM F588 Forced Entry Test — provides enhanced security by blocking forced entry attempts.

Description

The WB RH-AL roof access door is available in a variety of sizes including 24×24, 30×54, 30×96, 36×36, 48×48 and more. In addition, custom sizes are available upon request. Door features a heavy-duty lock and handle assembly, automatic hold open arm and a fully concealed hinge hardware located on the interior making rust unlikely.
In addition, this roof hatch includes pre-lubricated compression gas springs, encased in zinc-plated telescopic tubes for lift assistance and both interior and exterior padlock hasps to keep it secure from either the inside or outside.
